The first guest for the week’s Late Late Show has been announced and fans have been waiting awhile for this one!
Leading the line-up is known other than actor Brian Cox. The Scottish star has plenty of titles under his belt starring in Braveheart, Manhunter, X-Men, and so many more.
But at the moment he is best known for portraying Logan Roy in HBO’s Succession. Brian was scheduled to appear on the show in September 2022 but it was cancelled last minute, so fans have been eagerly awaiting his chat with Ryan for quite a while.
The pair will be discussing Brian’s connection to Ireland, why he dreams of an independent Scotland, and the fans who ask him to curse at them.
Also stopping by the Late Late studio will be Santis O’Garro, kicking the New Year off with by offering financial advice.
In 2018, Santis was a single mother with a mountain of debt, yet a year later she cleared that debt with no safety net and no financial training, she’ll explain to Ryan how she did it, why money is a taboo subject in Ireland and how you can make 2023 the year you take control of your money.
But it doesn’t stop there as Ryan will be looking at some of the historical objects that tell the story of modern Ireland as the country went through a revolution and found its identity politically, socially and culturally after independence, with Lynn Scarff, director of the National Museum of Ireland.
Plus some of our favourite Toy Show stars will be making a return!
2022’s Toy Show introduced Cuckoo AKA Maureen Codd, who taught her 14 grandchildren how to play different musical instruments, forming the band aptly named Cuckoo’s Nest.
Needless to say the nation’s hearts were immediately stolen. So it’s fantastic news that the band and Cuckoo will be returning to kick off Ireland’s largest festival of traditional music, TradFest Temple Bar, which returns later this month.
A whole host of musicians will also be there to start the celebration including Mike Hanrahan, Aoife Scott, Tommy Hayes, Frankie Gavin, Aisling Lyons, Sorcha Costello, BLÁNID, BRÍDÍN, Segun Akano, Niwel Tsumbu and Steo Wall.
