Christmas is a time when the party invitations come flooding in, you visit friends and family and you want to look your best. We wanted some practical and stylish advice to make your festive looks ‘sleigh’ this year….get it? So we sought the advice of top Irish stylist Lisa Fitzpatrick.
Lisa exclusively told VIP Magazine her top Christmas style tip ever, what she feels is best to wear to the races, and what to dawn for a New Year’s celebration. Her advice is specific and achievable for all fashion lovers out there, who find dressing for the festive season somewhat difficult.
Although there are many Christmas style recommendations out there, for Lisa it’s simple- comfort and colour is what you need.
“My top Christmas style tip would be to not buy red, because half the nation will! Buy something that you can breath in, and so you can enjoy eating one million calories that day! For me, it’s honestly about comfort, and adding a burst of colour with a wrap or a bag,” she said.
When it comes to a fabulous day out at the races Lisa feels that staying warm needs to be factored into your outfit choice. You may want to be glam ladies, but it’s no use if you’re going to freeze!
“A coat is a starting point, and cover you skin, it’s winter! Racing looks should be elegant, chic, sophisticated- if your chosen look ticks all three boxes that’s fab,” she said.
New Years Eve is a fun night where anything goes style wise. Lisa’s professional opinion is that it’s the night of the year where you should shine, so glitter is encouraged.
“Glitz and glam if you’re going out. I’m over sequins, I went through a stage where I loved them but for me it’s the one night that I like to sparkle,” she said.
