Spencer Matthews has apologised for his ‘wooden performance’ on Good Morning Britain.

The reality star was guest presenting the showbiz slot while Richard Arnold was on holiday.

However, viewers said he was like ‘a Rabbit caught in the headlights’ reading the autocue.

Spencer, who is married to Vogue Williams, reported on a story about Victoria Beckham’s new fashion line but was rather quiet when it came to banter between him and the presenters.

Taking to Instagram to acknowledge the reaction to his guest role, he said:  “Such a huge amount of respect for people who regularly present live television – it’s a skill and it’s not easy. Had my first go this morning on GMB and it’s safe to say that it didn’t go so well…”

He added: “Apologies for my lack of experience and wooden performance. I’ll loosen up and get better with time, hopefully!”

Spencer’s followers on Instagram were a little more forgiving telling him to not be so hard on himself.

“You did a great job, but of course practice always make anything easier, so looking forward to seeing more of you in the mornings,” one follower said.

“Ahh you were sweet like a little news reader x few more you’ll do fab x” another added.

Another joked: “Who cares with a face like yours!!!! X just apply to be the next BOND!!!!”
