We took at Erica Cody’s playlist to find out the music that made her.
The song I listen to on repeat is…
Every Time by Mac Ayres – it’s top of my playlist! It’s a feel good, excellent R&B song and those are hard to come across these days. He’s been a favourite artist of mine for a while.
My favourite sing-along track is…
Big Poppa by Notorious BIG. Karaoke hates to see me coming! Say You’ll Be There by The Spice Girls is another. It’s one of those that you can just get into.
When I’m in a bad mood I listen to…
As by Stevie Wonder. Or actually, anything at all by him, he’s incredible.
An artist I’m loving at the moment is…
BXKS, if you haven’t heard her, this is your introduction.

When I was growing up I listened to…
Everything from Stevie Wonder to Dolly Parton. We had a big musical house. My mam and dad never played or sang themselves, but they were big music lovers. My dad is from the States so we listened to a lot of gospel music, we had some R&B, hip hop, rap, my nanna was a massive jazz fan so we had a lot of that, some Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Johnny Cash. I went through a phase of loving Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson. There was a big mix.
The best concert I was ever at was…
The SZA S.O.S tour. Best stage production and story telling I’ve seen, ever!
My favourite show I’ve ever performed was…
The first time I played Longitude. My first summer of festivals in general was probably my favourite year of performing. I was doing Longitude, Electric Picnic, I did them all. The performing part is the pay-off of what we do as artists, so that for me was a big moment. I knew from that moment I wanted to stay in the industry.

The albums or vinyls everyone should have at home are…
Brown Sugar by D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder Hotter Than July and The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Every musician should listen to those three albums. Actually, everyone should!
My guilty pleasure track is…
Well, I have lots! Careless Whisper is a great track, I know people think saxophone is a bit corny but I like it. I feel like it’s disrespectful to George though to call that a guilty pleasure. Candy, Don’t Think I’m Not is from Real Housewives of Atlanta, that’s definitely a guilty pleasure!
