Sofie Skehan has shared a heartfelt message to her husband Donal, as they celebrate his birthday in lockdown.
The happy couple, who have two children together, Noah and Oliver, recently made the big move from LA back to Dublin when the Coronavirus pandemic hit.
Settling back into life in Ireland, the pair have been adjusting to their new version of normal, but it hasn’t been easy.
“This last year has by far been the most chaotic yet and now celebrating our first lockdown birthday, it can hopefully only go up from here,” Sofie said.
“We love you pappa, you are incredible. With everything going on around the world today I’m grateful we are home and healthy. We will celebrate with family and friends as soon as possible, I promise.”
Donal previously opened up about the family’s return to Ireland, admitting while it was the best thing for them to do, LA will always have a special place in their heart.
The pair were based there for almost five years, and made some incredible memories during that time.
“The city changed our lives, gave us two beautiful little boys born there, some incredible friends and so many opportunities, all that we are so grateful for,” he said.
“I know we’ll be back sooner rather than later for work and more, but in these strange times it feels further away than ever.
“For now though it’s bloody good to be home and Ireland will always be home, but a little part of us will always be in that sunny palm tree lined city.”
