Katie Hopkins’ appearance on the Late Late Show seems to have worked in RTE’s favour, as it drew in way over half a million viewers.
Despite causing outrage amongst viewers due to her stance on the US Presidential election, as well as her views about Ireland, the former Apprentice star certainly enticed people to tune in.
Ryan Tubridy told VIP Magazine last week, “Katie Hopkins does the job, she comes on and expresses an opinion that is contrary and difficult, but it’s starts a conversation” – and that, she certainly did.
According to the Irish Sun, an average audience of 586,900 people tuned into the show on Friday evening, however the ratings spiked again once Katie appeared, reaching a whopping 740,800.
It was the third most watched episode since the show returned to our screens in September, and insiders told the paper, “It was a very popular Late Late Show and performed very strongly.”
Meanwhile, Laura Whitmore has hit out at the show after they cancelled her appearance.
