Nathan Carter has opened up about his relationship status, admitting he’s single but would love nothing more than to find someone to settle down with.
The country crooner admits his “obsession with music and fear of commitment has not helped” his love life over the years, as well as the huge chunk of time he spends on the road, performing to audiences in Ireland and abroad.
“The music business is a killer for relationships. As we all know, it’s not an easy place,” he told Lisa McHugh on her self-titled podcast.
“I’ve definitely seen that with different lads in the band who are married. Some of the lads are single and some of them are not, and it’s very tough.
“Being away on tour in America for a month is so, so hard on a relationship. You have to have so much trust.”
Despite the difficulties, Nathan knows he could make a relationship work if the right person came along. And what exactly is he looking for?
“[Someone who is] Breathing… got a pulse,” he laughed.
“I’d say someone who is family orientated. They’d have to really like music. It doesn’t have to be country.
“Someone who is trusting and someone who is a laugh more than anything. They’d have to be up for the craic, like a few drinks and just up for a good time because life is too short.”
