Sinead Kennedy revealed she’s chosen a baby name ahead of her maternity leave, which is due to begin in mid November.
Sinead and her husband are looking forward to welcoming a sibling for their two-year-old daughter Indie. The pair kept the sex of their unborn child a secret as they both wanted to be surprised at the birth. Sinead revealed they’ve chosen a name for if it’s a boy but have yet to decide on a possible girl name.
Chatting to RSVP Live, Sinead said: “That is becoming the more unusual call, I am finding. People are quite surprised when you don’t know, they are surprised you want the surprise. For me, I would rather not know because I don’t care either way. I am hoping for a healthy baby, that is all I want.”

She later added: “If it is a brother for Indie, that is great and if it is a sister then that is great too. We don’t have a preference. I don’t need to plan or know in advance. There are so few surprises in the world and that’s one of the lovely ones.”
Laughing the tv host said: “Saying that, we have a boys name picked out but we don’t have a girls one. If it is a girl, I don’t want to panic choose because you could regret it. It is such a huge thing to name a human and you want to get it right.”
The Today presenter will take a step back from TV in mid November as she gets ready to welcome her child into the world.

She said: “I am only back for a few weeks and then I’m going off into the sunset. I was only laughing with Dáithí saying that I finally put in a full shift, I did a full year on the show last year.”
Continuing she said: “No sooner will I be settled in now then it will be time to go. I am glad I am getting a few weeks on air because it’s such a fun programme to work on and the team is fab.”
Finally, she added: “It is a nice way to see the last few weeks of pregnancy. Although I could do without the ‘What am I going to wear?’ dilemma.”
