Last week, TikTok creator ‘cassyeungmoney’, Cassie, posted a video to her platform that went viral where she shared her favourite carrot salad recipe.
During the video, Cassie explained how she had many leftover carrots, which she then shredded into thin ribbon pieces.
In the recipe, Cassie added sliced spring onions, grated garlic, sesame seeds, sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar and spicy chili crisp to create the perfect carrot salad that can be eaten as a healthy snack or as a side to any dish.
There are many alternative carrot recipes online to choose from. But what are the benefits of raw carrots and should we all be eating carrot salads?

One of the claims Cassie made in her video is that raw carrots are brilliant when it comes to hormonal balance.
Unfortunately, there is currently no evidence to support this claim; however, raw carrots have many other health benefits.
In the video, we saw Cassie, who was bare-faced with glowing skin. Many in the comments were asking for her skin care routine however, she told us in the TikTok that a large reason why her skin is so clear is down to her diet and eating meals such as carrot salads.
Raw carrots have many different health benefits and one of them is that they provide healthy, glowing skin.

Carrots are a natural antioxidant and contain high amounts of vitamin C which allows your skin to remain hydrated, protect the skin from sunburn and prevent textured, wrinkling skin.
Raw carrots are also high in fibre which promotes healthy digestion, debloating and helps to keep blood sugar levels under control. The vitamin A and beta carotene within raw carrots prevents the development of diseases such as diabetes.
