It’s a time of love and joy for Shane and Gillian Filan, who are celebrating their 16th wedding anniversary.
In 2003, the happy couple wed during a romantic ceremony in Ballintubber Abbey, Co Mayo surrounded by their nearest and dearest, before retiring to Ashford Castle Hotel, where they partied into the night.
Keeping the memories of that evening alive, the pair returned to Ashford Castle, to celebrate their recent anniversary.
Shane looked handsome as ever in a black tux, while Gillian stole the show in a royal blue midi dress, paired with gold heels.
Sharing a loved-up snap of the pair, Shane said, “16 years since our big day. Wishing you all a very happy 2020.”
Just before Christmas, Shane sadly announced the passing of his mum, Mae.
The mother of seven died peacefully on Sunday December 15th, in the care of the staff of North West Hospice in County Sligo.
Taking to social media at the time, Shane said, “It was the saddest day of my life. My mother Mae, who was an incredibly beautiful woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by all her family.
“I’d like to say thank you to everyone for all your well-wishes at this time.”
