Saoirse Ronan is set to appear on the front cover of one of the most influential magazines this week.
The actress will appear on the front cover of this week’s issue of TIME magazine.
Steve Jobs, Taylor Swift and Michelle Obama have all graced the cover of the magazine before, so it is a huge honour for Saoirse to be chosen as their starring lady for this issue.
Saoirse will be taking part in a series along with 9 other up and comings called,”Next Generation Leaders.” TIME magazine believe the chosen ten are “ready to take over their fields.”
The Irish actress was interviewed for the feature article, and in it she spoke about her desire to play characters that are similar to herself.
She told the magazine, “It’s important for me to play intelligent women, because I think in art, you have a responsibility to portray real life.
“It’s even more important now that there’s such a massive shift towards feminism that men and women see strong, complex women onscreen.
“I’m not being bigheaded, but I’m not a dummy. So I don’t want to play someone who is a dummy onscreen. And it’s just boring if you’re playing someone who hasn’t got anything to them.”
The Magazine will hit newsstands this week, so make sure to get your copy fast -they’re bound to sell out!
