Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has been nominated for an Oscar.
The star is having a stellar year having received many nominations for her role in Lady Bird, as well as picking up a Golden Globe this month.
The Carlow native is nominated for Best Actress for her role in Lady Bird, alongside Sally Hawkins for The Shape of Water and Frances McDormand for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Margot Robbie (I, Tonya) and Meryl Streep (The Post) are also in the running.
Saoirse was previously nominated for Brooklyn for Best Actress in 2016 and Atonement in 2008 for Best Supporting Actress.
