Samantha Mumba has opened up about her new music, which she hopes to release in the next couple of months.
The Dubliner has been working on the new tracks over in LA, where she lives with hubby Torray Scales and daughter Sage.
“The majority of the writing and recording has been done in America,” she told VIP Magazine.
“I don’t care where I am doing it, once the writing and recording is good – and the energy too. I’m all about the energy.
“It’s the team of people who matter, and they’re incredible. They’re really pushing me out of my comfort zone so that’s been really good. It’s been so enjoyable.”
As well as her solo tracks, Samantha admits there’ll be a couple of exciting collaborations – but can’t divulge too much about them just yet.
“With the collaborations, I want it to be something that makes sense. I don’t want to have any collaborations just for the sake of it.
“There won’t be a huge amount of that, but definitely one or two. There’s nothing official yet though, so I can’t say who they are,” she said.
While she has been consistently gigging over the last number of years and months, Samantha can’t wait to get back on the road and tour the new music – which she will of course, be taking back to Ireland.
“I’m excited! It’ll be incredible to have new material. My live show will be changing and we’re re-jigging all of that. I think it’ll be really good.”
She came home to Dublin yesterday to launch Just Eat’s exciting new campaign ahead of National Takeaway Tuesday.
If you order from Just Eat this afternoon, not only will you receive 10% off your order, but they’ll donate that to the Peter McVerry Trust.
“I think it’s absolutely brilliant. The homeless crisis in Ireland is shocking and I think it’s a brilliant collaboration. It’s an excuse to order a takeaway; you’re getting a discount and that 10% is going to the Peter McVerry Trust, she said.
“Last year, they were able to re-home five people, and I think that’s just brilliant. The more awareness the better, and if they could double that this year, that would be incredible. I think it’s a fantastic campaign,” she said.
