Ryan Tubridy has revealed his hopes for his tenth year as host of The Late Late Show.
The 44-year-old took over as host of the long-running chat show in 2009, from radio presenter Pat Kenny, and says that he would love to take the show to the public.
“We’ve never taken The Late Late Show out of RTÉ in all the years because I landed on the show pretty much at recession time and that financially wasn’t a runner,” he told RTE Entertainment.
“I take my radio show out a lot, and I love it. It’s really important to see as much of the country to get a sense of the people that we work with and the people that we’re working for, that is to say the people that are watching, read the RTÉ Guide, listen to the radio,”
“Think about it: next year is my 10th season,” he said. “There’s no reason why we shouldn’t celebrate.
“But I would love to turn it into a big Mardi Gras of a show some night somewhere special.”
This would be great!
