Ryan Tubridy has opened up about the interest in his personal life that comes with being well-known.
The Late Late show presenter keeps his family and relationships out of the public eye and rarely gives much away about his private life.
“I always keep that stuff to myself,” he admitted.
When asked by VIP Magazine whether it bother’s him that viewers have so much interesting in his life, the star said he understands where it comes from.
“No, because I have to do what you do which is ask questions like that, so I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. It’s part and parcel with what we do, so it’s not an issue,” he explained.
The host opened up about being watched and recorded everywhere he goes but adds that he understands it’s part of the job.
“Once I leave the house, you’re filmed, you’re photographed, there are selfies, all the way to the bar and all the way home again.
“It’s all part of what we do and if I didn’t want all this attention and I wasn’t so narcissistic I’d go work as a teller in a bank, I came into this with my eyes open so it’s all good!”
Ryan was speaking at RTE’s Autumn launch where he promised the new season of the Late Late show will be very special.
“I’m more excited this year than I was the first year,” he said.
“The first year I was a nervous wreck and then I was trying to keep it together and then it waxed and waned for a couple of years and last year I thought it was great.”
“And now I’m older and I have more life experience, you love, you win, you lose you go up and down and I’ve seen it all now. I’m going to channel Sinatra this year and just stoically enjoy it and live it and smell the whiskey off the glass. I’m very excited about it.”
The star also revealed plans to bring the Late Late show to London for the new series.
