Ryan Tubridy has celebrated a major career milestone recently as he marked one year since he made the big move to London and took to the hot seat in his new home on Virgin Radio.

Since leaving the Late Late Show, Ryan has proved quite the hit with UK audiences and the former talk show presenter couldn’t be happier about it.

Taking to Instagram to reflect on the past year, Ryan said: “A year ago today, I started a new job in a new station in a new city!

“From the moment I walked through the door at Virgin Radio, I was welcomed in the warmest way by a beautiful bunch of people who love doing what they do for a living.”

Continuing on he said: “I’ve made new friends, been to places I never expected to go and interviewed people I always wanted to meet.

“When a job doesn’t feel like work, you’ve hit the jackpot!”

Ryan then thanked his colleagues both in Virgin and in Q102 in Dublin as well as his loyal listeners for all their support.

“Here’s to another year of loving life and always erring on the side of joy,” he finally added.

Ryan’s move to London came after the Dubliner left RTÉ following the payments scandal.

Opening up about facing the Oireachtas hearings over the summer of 2023 due to his payments, Ryan told Dermot Whelan on his podcast, The Mind Full how his family really supported him during that time. Although he had to juggle his mother’s illness at the time.

“They [family] were the pillars, and my partner was a pillar, the girls were a pillar and if there was a temple of doom they were the pillars that kept the roof on we got through it, my mum was pretty good, she was unwell at the time so that was pretty tricky,” he confessed.

You can catch Ryan on Dublin’s Q102 between 10 am and 1 pm between Monday and Friday.
