Ruth Negga and Colin Farrell are among some of the Irish names nominated for the Golden Globes.
The full list of nominees for the prestigious award ceremony was announced today and four Irish names secured nominations for the coveted awards.
Ruth, who’s also been tipped for an Oscar nomination, was nominated for Best Actress in a Movie Drama, for her depiction of Mildred Loving in her latest movie Loving, which tells the story of the story of an interracial couple who are sentenced to prison in Virginia in 1958 for getting married -which is prohibited under Virginian law.
Colin Farrell is nominated for his role in The Lobster in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category.
Irish actress Catriona Balfe was also nominated in the Best Actress in a TV Drama category for her role in Outlander.
