Russell Crowe has wished Ryan Tubridy good luck in a special video message all the way from Australia.
During his gig in the Gershwin Room Melbourne’s Espy venue last Thursday, Russell enlisted the audience’s help to record a video message to his “mate” Ryan Tubridy.
My man Ryan Tubridy has stepped down from the @RTELateLateShow after 15 years. An Irish institution, his contribution has been enormous.
All the best for the adventures ahead Ryan. Here’s our tribute to you, live from The Espy in Melbourne. https://t.co/3ERdkd839Y— Russell Crowe (@russellcrowe) May 29, 2023
The crowd shouted “Good Luck Ryan!” before he performed the song Blackjack Chains.
Russell also had some lovely words to say about the beloved talk show host.
“Every single time I’ve come on your show, I love the vibe, and I love what you’ve done and I’m really proud of what you’ve achieved in 15 years,” he added.
Russell has been a regular guest of the Late Late Show for quite some time and even previously called out the audience for clapping out of time with the music – all jokes of course!

After 15 years as the host of Ireland’s national talk show, Ryan received plenty of video messages, including a shout-out from Bono and The Edge, who also gifted the host a brand-new Vespa.
Other celebrities sending Ryan their best wishes were Paul McCartney, and Saoirse Ronan.
Ryan presented his final episode of the Late Late Show last Friday, with the show featuring guests such as the President of Ireland Michael D Higgins and the kids from many of the Toy Shows he had presented.
We wish him the best of luck in the future!
