Rugby player Peter Stringer is set to marry long-term girlfriend Debbie O’Leary today in a sun-soaked Spanish ceremony.
Having been engaged for a year, Peter spoke to RTE Radio One to tell of his hopes for the day and in particular, that all attention will will be taken off him and focused on his beautiful fiance.
“I’m going to deflect a lot of it on to Debbie – it’s all about her, I’ll try fade into the background as much as I can,” he admitted.
“Knowing Debbie, she won’t put me under any pressure as I don’t like being the centre of attention.”
The ceremony which will take place in Malaga will be informal and laid back, as desired by the couple, also reflected in the dress code of the guests;
“We’re going to be smart casual as it’ll be quite hot. Suits with open collars. Whatever the guys are comfortable in.”
Nadia Forde, a close friend of the bride, will be attending the celebrations on the arm of her plus one, Rob. Sadly, the singer’s mother lost her battle with cancer on Saturday so no doubt the day will be difficult for the grieving star.
A huge help will be the support of Debbie, who’s been a great friend to Nadia for the last five years:
“She’s one of my best friends. I met her through my ex- boyfriend and I’ve stayed really close to her. I went wedding dress shopping with her too”, the model told TV Now.
