It’s an exciting day for RTE and TG4 presenters, who will be swapping stations to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.
RTE weather presenters Nuala Carey, Karina Buckley and Helen Curran will be changing places with TG4’s Darren Ó Dubhgáin, Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta and Donncha Ó Murchú for an evening of fun and frolics.
On TG4’s main weather bulletin at 18:57 before Nuacht TG4, Darren Ó Dubhgáin will present from TG4’s HQ in Baile na hAbhann before handing over to RTÉ’s Nuala Carey in Dún Laoghaire and Karina Buckley who will be at Áras an Uachtaráin.
Sharing her delight, RTE’s Karina Buckley said, “I’m looking forward to using my cúpla focal as part of this year’s Weather Swap for Seachtain na Gaeilge.
“Level 5 restrictions mean that I won’t get to the home of Irish language broadcasting at Baile na hAbhann this year but I will get to present from outside the residence of its main architect, President Michael D. Higgins. With a bit of luck, we may even catch a glimpse of the first madraí Bród & Misneach!”
On RTÉ One News and Weather, Helen Curran will begin the bulletin and hand over to TG4’s Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta who will be at the scenic Túr Chamuis in Connemara and then to Donncha Ó Murchú who will be in Salthill.
Fiona Ní Fhlaithearta of An Aimsir Láithreach TG4 said, “This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge in a unique way and to exhibit the long standing friendship between TG4 and RTÉ.”
We can’t wait to catch all the action this evening!
