When scrolling through social media it’s easy to think that everyone’s being super-productive since lockdown began. Yoga, baking banana bread, sourdough, starting new hobbies and running 5k, there is seemingly no end to people’s lockdown achievements.

Roz Purcell addressed this on a recent segment on the Six O’Clock show where she spoke through video link with Muireann O’Connell and Martin King.

The model and social media star shared how she felt about seeing this on social media, as it can make many people feel stressed out that they’re not being productive enough with this time.

“I’ve definitely felt a huge pressure to be really pro-active in lockdown and I think there’s nothing worse.”

“Now all of the content we’re being fed is people being really pro-active at home and it can make you kind of feel bad and make you feel like you haven’t really done much with your day or your week and I guess we have to all remember as well that we’re going to have off days.”

Most importantly Roz reminded viewers that; “We’re in the middle of a pandemic and I think why add, on top of all this, guilt to yourself for not learning how to play the cello or something you know.”

Earlier this month Roz also posted a body positivity post for her followers in a bid to make sure people didn’t feel bad about their bodies during lockdown.

Posting a gorgeous un-filtered picture of herself Roz shared; “Just incase you’re starting to think negatively about your body right now. Reminder that you’re enough now and you still will be once this is over, even if you had all the snacks.”

We have never lived through anything like this before, so Roz advises that we are kind to ourselves instead; “Right now during this pandemic is the perfect time to be kind to yourself, give yourself time to adjust, don’t add pain & stress by being a dick to yourself.”

“I know things are strange , a lot of us depend on a normal routine and distractions to feel good. Maybe you’re sleeping in, living off comforting foods, lacking motivation to move.”

She finished with the best of all; “Our body’s are unreal and if the worst thing that comes out of this is we need to buy some bigger pants well wahoooo what a result!”
