Roz Purcell has reached out to her followers in need during a recent Q&A, sharing her thoughts and advice on intimate images shared without consent.
During the Q&A one follower wrote: “Guy shared intimate vids of us to other ppl. Think he bribed/threatened witnesses as I couldn’t get far with my report. Tried to forget about it but found out from people in same town he has done it again this month.”
Sharing more the follower added: “He is in a job of authority. Is this common even though it’s illegal? I feel so alone and heartbroken”
Responding to the anonymous problem, Roz shared the sad reality for many victims of this.
“The sad thing about this is I got 5 q’s similar” she began.
Continuing on to share the best advice she has for those dealing with such a situation Roz said:
“Reminder that this is illegal. Not only for the first person to share but forward content on. If you know someone who’s images have been shared – please take their side & help them get justice”
Getting wind of the follower’s heartbreaking situation, another fan reached out to Roz to share their advice for getting justice saying:
“If their ex is in a job of authority, there’s always an oversight board, e.g. teaching council, gsoc. Make a complaint to them and I can guarantee all that nonsense will stop.
“They don’t have to put up with that behaviour, don’t be afraid to make a complaint.”
While another fan shared valuable information too saying:
“Hey Roz, for anyone who has had intimate images shared non consensually, hotline.ie have a reporting tool on their website to get pics removed.
“It’s illegal under the HHRCO Act 2020 to even threaten to share the images so victims can report to Gardaí.”
