Rosie Connolly is set to wed her longtime love, Paul Quinn, this summer, and says that the proposal was perfect.

The top blogger revealed that Paul got their little boy Harry to take part in the special moment, and even ask her stepfather’s permission.

The couple got engaged last summer on a very romantic day out.

Speaking exclusively to VIP Magazine she said: “Aw, it was so romantic. It was a sunny day in July, and we headed up to Howth Head with Harry. Paul pulled into the shop to get ice cream, and secretly called my stepdad, Billy, to ask his permission.

“I was giving out to him for taking so long in the shop!” she laughed.

“We went for a walk then, he was behind me with Harry in the buggy, and when I turned around, I looked at them both and Harry had the ring box on his lap. I just burst into tears and Paul was like, “is that a yes!?”

The 28-year-old said it meant a lot to her that Paul involved her step-father, as her father passed away when she was a teen.

“Him calling my stepdad was very thoughtful and meant a lot to me, as I lost my dad when I was 18 and I always said if he was still here I’d have wanted Paul to ask him.

“It was still really important to me that he asked my stepdad, and Billy felt so privileged.”

Rosie also revealed that she will be incorporating her late father into the wedding ceremony.

“We’ll have a photograph of him on the alter – well, we’re not getting married in a church but where we’ll be saying our vows, just so I can see his face and feel he’s part of the day.”

The couple will wed on the 19th of May.
