Rosanna Davison has been very vocal over the past few years about her struggle with fertility and this weekend shared an emotional post with her followers.
Sharing a picture of her bruised stomach as she gave herself injections during her pregnancy she said; “Worth every shot.”
“I just came across this photo taken this weekend a year ago when I was about 7 weeks pregnant. I injected my tummy every day for 9 months last year with heparin, an anticoagulant to help prevent blood clots (an inherited blood clotting disorder called Factor V Leiden runs in one side of my family).”
“As a woman facing a battle with your fertility, your body goes through so much and at times it can feel overwhelming. I lost count a long time ago of how many blood tests and injections I’ve done in the past 5 years between numerous fertility tests, pregnancies and the ovarian stimulation process for surrogacy.”
At the time Rosanna had just become a mother to a little girl, Sophie, via surrogacy after suffering 14 heartbreaking miscarriages previously. Since then, Rosanna gave birth to twin boys late last year.
Speaking about this recently she shared that both she and her husband Wes did not think her pregnancy would make it; “I’m not sure that either of us truly expected it to last though.”
After all that she has been through, Rosanna often speaks out on social media to raise awareness for pregnancy loss, as well as putting words of encouragement out there for any other women going through what she has dealt with herself.
She ended her post by saying; “If you’re going through something similar at the moment or struggling with all of the injections, pain, bruises and emotions that come with infertility, lVF and surrogacy, remember that the bruises heal, you can only do your very best and a successful end to your journey really is worth every single injection.”
