Rosanna Davison has revealed she kept her pregnancy news from her parents at the start, as she didn’t want to get their hopes up incase something went wrong.

Following years of fertility struggles and 14 heartbreaking miscarriages, Rosanna recently discovered she’s expecting not one, but two children.

The model, who welcomed baby Sofia to the world last November via surrogacy, is pregnant with identical twin boys.

“We found out around my birthday weekend, in mid-April,” she told Jennifer Zamparelli on 2FM this morning.

“But having been pregnant before I don’t get particularly excited. It was only over the next few weeks. It was quite a shock, a happy shock.”

Rosanna and her husband Wes kept the news to themselves for a few weeks, until they had been to see their doctors and had a scan.

“I didn’t tell her when I first found out I was pregnant because she’s been through a lot, she’s been through the whole journey with me and I didn’t want to break her heart again,” she said.

“So I only told her when I had gone for a scan at six weeks and the doctor detected a heartbeat and at that stage, I rang her because I was so excited I hadn’t got to that point before.

“The next week I rang her again and I said, ‘You’re going to need to sit down there are two heartbeats’.

“Mum and dad knew from the beginning. They’re old and wise enough at this stage not to get too excited about things like that.

“We waited until 12 and a half weeks or 13 weeks to tell my brothers and their partners though.”

Rosanna, who was previously told she’d probably never be able to carry her own child, believes the slower lifestyle pace of lockdown helped her to conceive and sustain the pregnancy.

Taking to social media yesterday, Rosanna said, “For this to just happen naturally, and to have twins too by complete chance, is an absolute dream come true for us.

“My doctor can’t offer a medical explanation for it, and it will probably always remain one of life’s mysteries.

“However, we found out I was pregnant after the first month of lockdown when I was far more physically relaxed than I’ve been in years and enjoying the slow pace of family life at home, despite the anxiety and sadness in the outside world. So perhaps that time out from the stress of busy everyday life made all the difference.”

We wish Rosanna and Wes continued happiness!
