Legendary golf pro Arnold Palmer sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 87. He was undergoing heart tests at a hospital in Pennsylvania.
A number of golfing greats such as Tiger Woods and Jason Day took to social media yesterday to express their sadness at the passing of a sporting icon. Our very own Rory McIlroy also led in a tribute.

On Twitter he shared a pic of himself with the 62 PGA Tour winner and alongside it wrote, “Remembering the special times I spent with Mr Palmer at Bay Hill. A true pioneer for our sport. Forever remembered.”
Meanwhile, Down native Rory took home the Fed Ex Cup in Atlanta this weekend.
