Rory McIlroy has broken his silence after making his shock divorce announcement last year and later reversing the decision.
Yes, the golfer shocked fans when he revealed that he was preparing to divorce his wife of seven years, Erica Stoll, last summer.
However, ahead of him taking to the golf course for the US Open, the couple appeared to make a 180, with Rory confirming to The Guardian, that they had reconciled and withdrawn their divorce filing.
Speaking out at the time Rory revealed: “There have been rumours about my personal life recently, which is unfortunate.

“Responding to each rumour is a fool’s game. Over the past weeks, Erica and I have realised that our best future was as a family together.
“Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a new beginning.”
Now, during the latest series of Netflix’s Full Swing, Rory has once again decided to open up on that turbulent time saying: ‘”There’s parts of my life that I like to keep as private as possible. Unfortunately, in this line of work that isn’t always possible.”
Addressing the almost-split he went on to say: “Thankfully, everything has worked out for the best and we’re happy and moving forward and I can’t wait for what lies ahead.”

It looks like Full Swing isn’t the only Netflix project you can catch Rory on as he’s also set to make his film debut in the upcoming sequel to Happy Gilmore.
Yes, the sequel is coming to Netflix later this year and boasts a star-studded cast.
And, given that he’s a professional in the sport, Rory leads the golfing contingent which also includes Bryson DeChambeau, Will Zalatoris, Brooks Kopka, Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas.
Safe to say, we’ll be tuning in!
