Ronan Keating has revealed it doesn’t feel right without Stephen Gately when asked about a Boyzone reunion.
Speaking on Newstalk, Ronan was asked if fans can expect the band to get back together, with the Dubliner replied: “No, no, we’re done.”
“We had 25 years great years. For me it finished when Stephen died and that probably was the end of the band as we knew it.”
“We probably should’ve walked away. We thought the right thing was to keep it going in Steo’s memory but it never felt right after that ever again,”
Confessing: “The magic was gone. The spark was gone. I fought for it back, I couldn’t get it so Boyzone ended then.”
Stephen tragically passed away very suddenly in Spain in 2009, and his untimely passing affected the entire nation, with thousands taking to the streets to pay their respects to the singer.
Ronan remembered his late bandmate Stephen Gately, on the 13th anniversary of his death earlier this month.
Sharing a tribute to Stephen, Ronan posted several photos of the lads from their Boyzone day. Commemorating him, saying: “13 years and doesn’t get any easier because I know how much living ya had in ya.”
“Miss ya dude. A heavy heart.”
