Rob Lipsett has revealed why he thinks he didn’t last long on Love Island, putting it down to the fact he’s too much of a nice guy.
The fitness vlogger entered the house last Friday but was voted out after just three days.
He says he was surprised when pointed out that he wasn’t on screen for much of his stint on the show.
“When people said to me that I didn’t get enough airtime I thought they were joking because I speak on camera for a living,” he told Xpose.
“I don’t have over 250,000 YouTube subscribers for saying nothing.”
He added that it was only when he saw the footage for himself that it made sense.
“When I watched the show back, it all clicked. Basically in reality TV, you need to create drama.
“They wanted me to gossip and talk down about people and that’s not my style.”
Rob’s model sister Roz had similar sentiments about his departure from the show.
“He said that he talked loads and had a great time but didn’t really get involved in the drama,” she told Independent.ie
“He obviously had a really great time and made loads of new friends and got on so well in the house.
“But none of that was shown because it was all about the drama and the narrative of what was going on in the show. It was more about them having banter and talking about the relationships going on in the house and who liked who.
“I think all of us would have loved to have seen more of the Rob we know and love from the YouTube videos.”
Meanwhile the second Irish hopeful, Shannen Reilly McGrath, also left the show after just three days.
“It’s an amazing stepping stone no matter how long you’re in there for. I had a really good time, 3 days feels like a week in there so I don’t regret it,” she told Xpose.
