Ralph Fiennes has shared his affection for Ireland following his appearance at the Dublin International Film Festival (DIFF).
The Oscar-nominated actor was all chat as he spoke about his new movie, The Return, at the opening night of DIFF earlier this week.
Speaking to RTÉ, Ralph opened up about his connection to our lovely emerald isle.
“Well, I have a connection with Ireland because I was here in my early teens – West Cork and Kilkenny,” he recalled.

“I was back here and worked in the Gate Theatre in the wonderful Brian Friel play, Faith Healer.
“I have a bit of history going back to when I was young. I always feel very happy to be back in Dublin,” he added.
Ralph then praised Ireland’s screen talent, noting how the country has always produced “amazing actors, directors and writers”.
“It’s absolutely extraordinary – you’ve never had a shortage of talent in this country. Never!”

“Cillian is a fantastic actor. That’s a wonderful suggestion,” he admitted while on Watch What Happens Live.
“I would be all in favour of Cillian. Yeah.”
We’re with you there, Ralph!
