Possible disruption and power outages expected from Storm Hannah

Batten down the hatches this weekend as Storm Hannah is set to rage on and cause disruption in parts of the country.

A status Orange wind warning has been issued for Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick kicking off on Friday at around 4pm.

According to Met Eireann it will be ‘stormy on Friday evening and overnight as Storm Hannah moves in. Southerly winds, later veering northwesterly will reach mean speeds of 65-80 km/h with gusts of 110 to 130 km/h.’

There is a status Yellow wind warning for large parts of the country from Friday night.

Connacht, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Donegal, Tipperary and Waterford are expected to be affected.

The weather is set to improve on Saturday.
