Pippa O’Connor and Brian Ormond have shared an update of their home renovation, as they begin the journey of transforming the garage into a useable living space.
The pair, who moved into the house in 2017, have been making small adjustments to the home over the last number of years, but have now decided to work a bigger project.
“When we moved into this house four years ago we had plans drawn up to convert the garage into a bedroom and ensuite,” she said.
“We decided not to do it at the time as it wasn’t on the priority list but lockdown got us thinking that we’d like to tackle this next. So a few months ago, we cleared it out… well Brian did… and that in itself was a huge task.”
It’s been full steam ahead this week, as they took out the garage door and added a gorgeous big white window.
Since the exterior has now been completed, they can begin with the flooring and wall coverings.
As well as the garage, they’re making some smaller changes to the inside of their home.
Pippa and Brian are planning to revamp their living room with some new coverings on furniture and cushions, going for different fabrics in soft greys, white and shades of blue.
Sharing a preview of some of the material, Pippa said, “I just thought ‘Chanel’ when I saw this fabric. It’s absolutely stunning.”
