Pierce Brosnan is remembering his late friend, actor Robin Williams, on his 69th birthday.

The pair first got to know each other on the set of Mrs Doubtfire almost 30 years ago, and remained good friends until Robin sadly passed away in 2014.

At the time of his death, Pierce said, “It really has cut deep into all our hearts that he is gone and he suffered in such pain. He will be loved forever and missed forever.”

Today, the Irish actor has been thinking about the fond memories they shared, as they should have been celebrating another joyous occasion together.

Posting a black and white picture of the late actor, Pierce simply said, “Miss ya Robin on what would have been your 69th birthday.”

Pierce previously recalled the moment he first met Robin, telling US Weekly it was an experience he’ll never forget.

“My first day on set of Mrs Doubtfire, they said, ‘Do you want to meet Robin?’. I had never met the man, I was so excited. I was so thrilled to have this job in the company of this great star comedian,” he said.

“I walked into the trailer and there was Robin in a pair of UGG boots, hairy legs, shorts, Hawaiian shirt and hairy chest. That’s how I met Robin Williams, and that’s how I met Mrs. Doubtfire. And I had the time of my life.”
