First Dates is full of emotional moments, from the heartwrenching to the joyous and even the completely cringe, viewers are guaranteed to feel a range of emotions during the show.
This week a particular couple stole the hearts of the viewers.
John-Charles and Stephen had already met briefly but the couple looked instantly delighted to see each other.
Stephen explains that he did Deaf Studies in college and has learned sign language due to a stutter he had as a child.
John-Charles who is deaf was delighted to be paired with someone who has sign language.
Tonight’s episode features a first for the show in Ireland & the UK – a date conducted entirely in sign language..

The date went off without a hitch and viewers at home who were not fluent in sign language were provided with subtitles during the date.
Though viewers were loving the date regardless, they were especially impressed by the inclusivity of the entirely signed date, which was a first for the show in both the UK and Ireland.
Fans took to Twitter to give their take on the show.
When it came to the end of the date, both men agreed that they would love to see each other again.
Sadly by the end of the show, we learn that Stephen has since decided to move to the UK!
Let’s hope John-Charles will get in touch if ever he’s visiting!
