Peaky Blinders fans rejoice, as the show’s creator has just dropped plot details for the next season!
The hit BBC series has become a worldwide success and is fast approaching its 6th season.
The show won big at Tuesday night’s National Television Awards, scooping the gong for Best Drama, while frontman Cillian Murphy, who plays gang leader Tommy Shelby, won for Best Drama Performance.
At the awards ceremony, creator Steven Knight confirmed that season 6 of Peaky Blinders will be set in the 1930s.
In an interview with PA Media, Knight said: “[The show is going to be] better than ever. It’s the best yet. It’s moving the story forward. We always jump in time so we are into the ’30s. Expect the unexpected.
“Because of the nature of the decade, the ’30s, we know what happened at the end – that war began. There are rumblings and rumours of war and that is overshadowing the whole thing. It makes it all the more… the stakes are higher.”
In terms of season 6 spoilers, it’s been revealed that the first episode is called “Black Day,” while Knight has also confirmed that antagonist Oswald Mosley (played by Sam Claflin) will be coming back for series 6.
Dubliner Anthony Byrne is also returning to the show as director of the new episodes.
We’re already excited!
