Paul Mescal has just revealed that he sat down with co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones to watch Normal People for the first time together earlier this month.

Given the fact that the show launched in the height of the pandemic, alongside the pair’s catapult to stardom, Paul and Daisy never got the chance to actually sit down and binge watch all the episodes together until early November.

Speaking about the “very special” 12-part series, Paul explained to GQ that he has only recently got around to watching it back with Daisy, revealing that the two met up to watch the BBC series together while drinking and I’m sure, closing one eye at certain parts.

“We hadn’t actually watched it together, Daisy and I. Because of lockdown, we hadn’t done that, so last week we got together and watched the whole thing through,” he said.

“We actually ended up playing a little drinking game: every time Connell wouldn’t complete a sentence or any time Marianne would make an emphatic statement that made Connell uncomfortable we did a shot.”

Continuing, Paul who plays Connell Waldron in the series, added that the pair ended up talking over most of it, reflecting on moments that happened off-screen, including costume changes and funny outtakes.

“We ended up talking over most of it, just reflecting on particular days, costume changes, memories.

“It was very special to get to do that with her. The thing we shared – will always share – is so unique.”

Imagine a Gogglebox episode of these two watching the show back – this is the content we need.
