Paul Mescal has raised a staggering €70k after deciding to raffle off one of his chains from the hit show, Normal People.
Connell’s chains became almost as popular as the show itself, amassing an Instagram following of over 163k in a matter of days.
Knowing the interest surrounding it, Paul wanted to give it away to one lucky fan – while doing some good for charity.
“I am delighted to be able to help Pieta by raffling off one of my own chains. Pieta is a cause very close to my heart, having experienced loss due to suicide in my local town while growing up,” he said.

Since the raffle went live last month, an incredible €70,340 has been raised and Paul said it “will go a long way in supporting Pieta’s vital services.”
Pieta House provides free therapy to those engaging in self-harm, with suicidal ideation, or bereaved by suicide and following the cancellation of their biggest fundraiser, Darkness Into Light this year, these donations will be hugely beneficial.
Issuing a statement last night, the charity shared their sincere gratitude.
“Thank you to everyone who entered and for all the generous donations for the raffle of Paul Mescal’s chain. We have been blown away by the support,” they said.
