Olympic silver medalists Gary and Paul O’Donavan have ruled out the possibility of taking part in a reality show such as Big Brother.
Winning over the nation with their hilarious antics, the brothers from Skibbereen in Cork have announced that they’re not interested in getting involved in reality tv, because it would take too much time away from their training.
The pair already have their sights set on the next Olympics, and time is of the essence as they’re now aiming for gold. The athletes are also headed to the World Championships in 2017.
Speaking to the Independent.ie Gary said, “They take time and we don’t have time because we’ve to do our training. If we went on Big Brother, we’d be stuck in a house for weeks. We’d do no training.
“I don’t know much about it, I just know they go into a house for weeks. We just want to do our rowing, and go to the World Championships next year.”
The two lads have soared in popularity since returning home from Rio in August, but they haven’t let the fame get to their heads.
Appearing on The Late Late Show last month they said, “We’re afraid to leave home! Someone spots you and you’ll be wearing a cap and glasses and They’ll pull at you and drag you and then someone else sees you and it’s just a domino effect.”
While we admire their work ethic, seeing them on Big Brother would have had us glued to our screens!
