Congratulations are in order for Ciara Mageean as the Olympian has announced her engagement to her boyfriend Thomas Moran.
Yes, the couple decided to end 2024 on a high after a rather tough few months when Ciara was forced to pull out of the Paris Olympics due to an injury.
The 1500m European Champion announced the news on Instagram this week, revealing that her boyfriend, who she described as her “rock”, popped the question over the New Year.
“My biggest prize yet,” Ciara wrote alongside a photo of the couple dressed up and a ring emoji.

“2024 came to a close by answering the easiest question I’ve ever been asked.
“Tommy has been the rock by my side for over ten years, and now, my training partner for life.”
The couple has been together for ten years after first meeting while they were both studying at UCD.
So, safe to say they have been through all the highs and lows of life together!
Previously speaking out, Ciara revealed that their relationship developed over a shared love of athletics.
Tommy is also an accomplished athletics star who competed in the 1500m event and won the Griffith Avenue mile in 2019.
A match made in heaven some might say!
