Nuala Carey has revealed that since appearing on Derek Mooney’s show Searching For Mr Right, people seem to be obsessed with her love life – but she insists that right now she’s single and happy.
“Everyone asks me, don’t worry, I’m not annoyed. I think I’m asked all the time because it’s not plainly obvious what my relationship status is.
“If you were interviewing Kathryn Thomas, you know she has a husband and the two girls, so it’s not a mystery.”
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, she continued, “Sure listen, social distancing and dating don’t really go hand in hand. It’s just a bit of a dead-end question because I don’t have anything to say.
“I’m not dating at the moment. I wouldn’t really feel comfortable dating at the moment.”
Revealing that there could have been someone special in the past, Nuala continued, “I could be married, but then maybe I wouldn’t be happily married. If I’m going to do it, I want to feel it will work out.
“If I had done it previous to now, I just don’t think it would have worked, it wouldn’t have been the right person for me and I wouldn’t do that to him.
“I just haven’t met the one.”
Although, Nuala also made it clear that her relationship status doesn’t define her in the slightest. “I would like to think for me that my life can still be whole even if I haven’t ticked that box and just because I haven’t ticked it now doesn’t mean I won’t.
“But if nothing changes, that’s OK too.”
