Northern Irish presenter Gemma Bradley lands new role on BBC Radio 1

Northern Irish star Gemma Bradley has shared her delight, after landing an exciting new role on BBC Radio 1.

The singer and presenter, who is already well known to BBC Radio Ulster listeners, will soon be taking over a weekend show on the flagship station.

Kicking off in 2021, Gemma will host BBC Introducing, which focuses on showcasing new talent.

Announcing the news, she revealed, “I’m so excited to say I’ll be joining the BBC Radio 1 family in the new year hosting the ‘BBC Introducing’ show on Sunday nights, carrying on from the legend that is Huw Stephens, who has done so much for new artists. So excited for this new chapter.”

Huw Stephens couldn’t be happier to pass the reins over to Gemma, and taking to social media said it was “brilliant news” and wished her luck with the show.

A whole host of friends and colleagues were quick to share their heartfelt congratulations with Gemma, including RTE’s Tara Stewart.
