It’s a wonderful day for the cast of Normal People, as the hit show has just received two Golden Globe nominations.
The show, based on the best-selling book by Sally Rooney went down a treat with viewers right across the world when it aired last year.
A-list stars including Wionna Ryder, Katy Perry and Kourtney Kardashian are just some of the biggest names who tuned in and shared their adoration for the Irish show.
Set between Sligo and Dublin, it follows the lives of two young adults, Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Conall (Paul Mescal) as they finish school and start college, facing various personal – and professional – obstacles along the way.

Daisy Edgar Jones who plays Marianne in the Irish drama received a nod in the Best Actress category for her work on Normal People, and the show as a whole was nominated for Best Limited Series of TV Film.
While Maynooth native Paul Mescal didn’t receive a nomination in the male actor category, he shared his unwavering support for his co-stars and close friends.
Sharing a snap of himself and Daisy on set, he said, “Could not be prouder of you my friend. Again, unbelievably proud of this show and everyone who worked on it.”
