Lucy Kennedy has gushed about her ‘best friend’, husband Richard Governey.
The presenter and her other-half have been married almost 10 years and Lucy spoke to VIP about their special relationship.
“We are together 18 years, he’s my best friend I love him,” she exclusively told VIP magazine.
“We laugh a lot! He travels quite a lot for work so our time together is quality time. He is the most consistent thing in my life. I know that no matter what happens I’ll be ok because I have him.”
When asked about whether they argue, Lucy admitted that there is not enough time when you have three children!
“We bicker and then we end up laughing,” The Ireland’s Got Talent host said.
“You have to kind of do ‘1, 2, 3’ and say ‘Sorry’ at the same time, because when you have kids you can’t argue, so we give each other a dirty look and then resolve it frantically whispering.
When asked what it’s like for hubby Richard to live with Lucy, she joked: “Apparently it’s hideous.”
“He’ll say that I’m really grumpy in the morning, I’m not! He’ll say that I snore, I don’t. He will say that I am slightly neurotic about cleaning, I’m not. But I do love cleaning. I get excited putting on marigolds…there I’ve said it out loud!”
She added: “There is nothing I love more than filling a bucket with Jiff, sticking on the radio and then I scrub in sheer bliss.”
The couple has three children, Holly (5), Jack (8) and nine-month-old Jess. This means the couple don’t have a lot of alone time or dates.
“We try but if I’m totally honest we actually love doing things together as a family because they’re all so delicious.
“I’m not really a party girl anyway, I’m actually quite nerdy in real life. I like to be in bed fully cleansed at 11!”
We love Lucy!
