After a long hiatus, due to the pandemic, last Sunday we got to see the glitz and glamour of Dancing With The Stars return to our screens, and it was exactly what we needed to brighten up a grey January evening.
Nicolas Roche was one of the contestants who made their dancing debut on the show, with his dance partner Karen Byrne, and the cyclist has since revealed that his girlfriend was critical of his performance on the show.
Nicholas, unfortunately, received the lowest score on the night, with just 11 points out of a possible 30.
Speaking after the show, Nicholas revealed what his girlfriend, Sophia Cortes, thought of his performance as she looked on from the audience.
“Although I thought I had completely let go and relaxed to a level beyond my own expectations, she was saying: ‘You still look stressed, your head was a bit down, you need to relax even more.'”
He continued, “She’s tough on me, and it’s part of the game. She wants me to do good. I’m making a lot of sacrifices, you know. She’s still back on the continent and I’m here for a couple of weeks at least.”
Last week we saw the first six Irish celebrities take to the floor, and next Sunday will see group two perform.
This week we will see Erica Cody, Aengus Mac Grianna, Matthew Mac Nabb, Ellen Keane, and Jordan Conroy performing for the first time, and week three will see the very first of the eliminations take place.
