Nicky Byrne has revealed that Dancing With The Stars Ireland has yet to be renewed for a second season.
The Dubliner, who co-hosted the first season of the show with Amanda Byram, says although he hasn’t heard any news on a potential second season, would “love to do it if the opportunity arose.”
“I haven’t heard yet from Dancing With The Stars. That would be great to do again,” Nicky told The Herald. “It was a great show to do and a busy show to do, but I think everybody enjoyed it.
“We haven’t been told officially yet. I’d like to think it’ll come back and I’d like to think they’d want me, but we’ll see.”
The first season of the show proved hugely popular, with RTE’s Sunday night ratings soaring to some of the best in years, and Nicky believes it was all to do with the huge personalties that appeared on the reality show.
“What I noticed was that it was like a sporting event, all channels and radio stations were talking about it”
“Sometimes people go, ‘I’m not going to talk about it because it’s on RTE’ or whatever. But with the characters involved, the likes of Des Cahill and Aidan and Hughie Maughan, it crossed over.”
We would love to see Nicky back on our screens!
