Nicky Byrne has paid tribute to his father on the anniversary of his death.
The Westlife singer lost his father eight years ago today.
He took to Twitter to post a heartfelt quote about his relationship with his dad.
The quote read: “My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person: He believed in me.”
Along with it he wrote: “8 years ago today…”
Nicky Snr passed away suddenly in 2009 aged just 60.
Fans were quick to send their love and support to the radio show host on social media.
“Sending love to you & your family. You are an outstanding person, Nicky – a wonderful son & father. I am sure your dad is extremely proud!” one fan account said.
Another said: “Your pops is always so proud of you. Just remember he’s always watching over you and your fam.”
Last year the singer posted a similar tribute and shared photos of the pair together.
He said at the time: “What a ledge my dad was.. Hug your parents folks X”
