Niall Horan has revealed the daily budget he stuck to while backpacking across Southeast Asia last year. Despite having millions in the bank, the Mullingar native kept it real by spending just €20 a day on his travels.
Embarking on the trip of a lifetime with his Irish cousins, Niall lived just like any other young Irish lad, and was shocked by how far €20 a day got him!
Speaking on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC yesterday the This Town singer said, “I went backpacking across Southeast Asia last year, it was incredible. We went around Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia, for six weeks. We did it on a budget and it was brilliant.
“You’d be surprised what 20 quid a night gets you over in Asia.”
The former One Directioner previously spoke about his trip on The Graham Norton Show, saying that he wanted to do it on a low budget and be just like any other 23-year-old travelling.
“We just wanted to do it properly. All my friends got to do it, but I was travelling the world in a different way, so I thought it’s only fair that I get to do it, too,” he said.
Fair play to him!
