Niall Horan may be a member of the biggest bands in the world, but while One Direction have been on their hiatus, the singer is spending more and more time on the golf course.
Not only was the Mullingar native back home for the Irish Open last week, but just yesterday he was at a celebrity tournament in Surrey, with the likes of our very own Brian O’Driscoll.
The competition is being held to raise money for Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens.
Speaking to the Irish Independent ahead of the tournament, Niall admitted that he’d love to see more people playing the sport – especially women.
He said, “I would really like to see a lot more girls playing it because the girls’ tour at the moment, the LPGA tour, is absolutely amazing and there should be more kids playing.”
Although the 22-year-old said that he may be too old to engage in a pro-golfing career, he would love to get into coaching and set up a training academy some day, but maybe just “not at the moment.”
