While most couples would spend the days and weeks after their wedding in a love bubble, enjoying a honeymoon of sorts, sadly Charlene McKenna and her husband Adam Rothenberg haven’t been able to do the same.
The actress reveals she hasn’t seen her husband since their big day due to work commitments.
The pair wed during a low-key ceremony in Castle Leslie, Co. Monaghan last month. Adhering to all Covid guidelines, the pair said ‘I do’ in front of a tiny group of friends and family, but despite the small numbers, it was still a magical occasion.
For the big day, Charlene stunned in a Natalie B. Coleman three-quarter length gown which she called “the dress of detailed dreams” while Adam looked dapper as ever in dark suit.

After their nuptials, the pair went their separate ways to work on various tv projects in different countries.
Speaking to Ray D’Aarcy, the newlywed said, “I haven’t seen him since the wedding. He’s on Ozark filming in Atlanta and I’m on Peaky so its like, ‘Well that was fun, I’ll see you in August. Goodbye!’”
Joking, Ray added, “Some people say that’s the recipe to a great marriage.” While a laughing Charlene responded, “Oh yeah, it’s the secret. Don’t look at them, don’t see them!”
The pair have been together since 2012, after meeting on the set of tv show, Ripper Street.
Recalling their first day together, Charlene said, “As two actors we had to meet up to talk about our upcoming scenes [on Ripper Steet].
“It was the first week of the shoot and the director was like, ‘Maybe you two should have a coffee and chat it out.’ We went to Bewleys and we had a coffee – I can even remember where we were sitting!
“I’d never met anyone like him and it really struck me. We worked together for a few months, nothing at all happened, and then we sort of started gently dating because it was long distance and it was awkward. But sure here we are, still awkward!”
We wish them a very happy future together.
