Eamon Holmes has sparked outrage on social media following an awkward interview with Caitlyn Jenner.
Eamon and his wife Ruth were co-hosting ITV’s breakfast show This Morning when they sat down for a chat with Caitlyn about her new book, and life with the Kardashians.
Fans thought the 57-year-old seemed visibly uncomfortable while interviewing the former olympic athlete, most notably avoiding a hug with Caitlyn as she walked onto the set.
Taking to social media, one user asked, “Why didn’t he kiss her like any other female guest?”
The Belfast man went to ask Caitlyn questions about her former life as Bruce Jenner, controversially inquiring “Is Bruce dead?” He also added,”You’re a younger looking woman than Bruce was a man.”
Many people who tuned into the show noticed the tense atmosphere, with one person saying on Twitter “#ThisMorning Eamon not comfortable with Caitlyn Jenner at all.”
